Risk Innovations helping out U First

From Erica Wright, CEO/Founder of U First, Inc.

Hello Ms. Cone

I would like to thank you very much for the donation of the toiletries, snacks and water.  At U First we strive to provide the basic necessities to our most under-served community, the homeless in the greater Atlanta area.  Simply providing toiletries, snacks and water to a person in need not only provides a means for hygiene, hydration and nourishment, but more importantly, it shows there are people that truly care about them.  The Lord leads our U First organization each day to help his children.   But it is people like you and Risk Innovations that enable us to fulfill God’s direction.

Please thank others within Risk Innovations for their generosity.  I have attached a few pictures of U First in action.  We are committed to continue serving more and more of our homeless.

The Atlanta Risk Innovations Team back at work at the Ronald McDonald House!

Group Shot - Mendonca Clan

We had a great time again at the Ronald McDonald House, making tacos! We’d like to give a big “Thank You!” to Jennifer Cone for organizing the event, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of the “Mendonca squad!” Thanks for all your hard work.

The Ronald McDonald house helps provide food for families in the Atlanta area that don’t have the time, energy, or resources to prepare or purchase a nutritious meal. Volunteers help prepare and serve nightly dinners, occasional lunches, and weekend brunches at the two Atlanta locations.

Strength in Numbers: Insurers Band Together to Fight CF

Snellings Walters, a long-time sponsor of Great Strides, formed Insure the Cure, an alliance with the insurance industry of Atlanta to raise awareness and help find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

In 2011, the Atlanta insurance community came together for the first time to form an alliance called Insure the Cure in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Insurance agencies, companies, brokers and re-insurers from across the city joined forces to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis and fund raise in support of a cure for this devastating disease.

Greetings all,I am sending out a huge KUDOS to Taylor on this beautiful Monday afternoon.  She and a team of gals have been working tirelessly for over 10 weeks to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign.  They have organized and executed at least six events over the last few months to raise funds for their campaign.

The campaign culminated in a big gala this past weekend, where the Man and Woman of the Year were announced.  Her team, The Welch’s Warriors, came in second place, and raised over $70,000and all 15 candidates and their teams raised $1,179,511.  What a significant impact their efforts have made towards blood cancer research and supporting families affected by the horrible, horrible disease.

Thank you, Taylor, for your dedication to serving others and helping make this crazy world of ours a better place.  And thank you to Risk Innovations and those individuals that supported her campaign by donating.  See below for a photo of The Welch’s Warriors this past weekend. Job well done!!

Thank You, Insure the Cure!

Insure The Cure Participants

This year, $335,000 was raised by 770 walkers representing 40 different industry teams for one common mission – to cure cystic fibrosis.  Thank you Insure the Cure for your leadership, and for being part of this important initiative as we continue to add tomorrows for Emily, Caleb, Nicole and so many others fighting to breathe everyday.

We are eternally grateful and look forward to many more strides with you.

With deepest gratitude,

Molly and Vicki

The Atlanta insurance community comes together once again to form Insure the Cure, to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Insure the Cure was formed in 2011 in honor of Clay Snellings’ daughter, Emily. Emily was born with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Currently, there is no cure.

Since its inception, the insurance community has raised over $800,000. The industry has banded together agencies, companies, brokers and re-insurers who on most days are fierce competitors, but have united to find a cure for Emily and the 30,000 others living with CF.

For 2016, Insure the Cure has set a goal to recruit 45 teams for the Atlanta Great Strides Walk on May 21st, on Georgia Tech’s campus. As our key partners across the state of Georgia, we are asking once again for you to join us in the fight for a cure.

Will you consider either a corporate or personal sponsorship? Agencies and Carriers are also encouraged to register a team for the event. You can also make a donation under one of our awesome employees’ fundraising efforts.  We are truly blessed to have such terrific and caring staff and are very proud of their continued efforts.

2015 #HolidayRIches

Happy Holidays From Risk Innovations

The month of December was all about #HolidayRIches!

During the month of December, Risk Innovations wanted to thank those people across the country that did good deeds and helped others.  For this reason, we asked our followers to participate in an effort to spread some good cheer and a little CA$H to some very deserving folks across the nation.

During the first week of December, visitors to our Web site and Facebook page were asked to nominate a teacher who they thought was worthy of winning $400. Everyone was encouraged to upload a video or brief message to our Facebook page, nominating their favorite teacher, and then asked to share that post with their friends and family. For each Like, Comment or Share, that teacher received one nomination. After the week was up, the votes were counted, and all the names were entered into a drawing for the $400. This was our Week 1 Winner Announcement.

For the remainder of the month, visitors were asked to nominate a charity that they thought was worthy of winning an $800 cash prize. Everyone was again asked to post their nominations to our Facebook page and to share them with their friends. At the end of the month, all the votes were counted, and the charity that received the most votes won the $800 grand prize. Check out our final Charity/Non-Profit Winner Announcement.

The staff had a great time with our 2015 Holiday RIches campaign, and it was a huge success. We plan to make it an annual tradition at Risk Innovations.
